A Bear and a Hat

The girls finished some new projects over the holidays. Hannah made this cute little bear for her baby sister. Amanda at Hearts and Trees gave us a link for this great project. You can view her post here. I cut out the pattern and drew the face and Hannah did pretty much all the stitching herself, using a blanket stitch. You can find a great tutorial here.

The girls and I got a bundle of knitting looms for Christmas. Kasey's first project was this hat she knitted for her Cabbage Patch doll. He's pretty spiffy!

Felted Flower Bag

I finished a new bag today and I am really pleased with how this one turned out! This was knitted on a knitting loom in one piece and the the sides were sewn together using the same wool yarn I knitted it from. The handle is a separate piece that I braided from the same yarn and then all was felted in the washing machine. The flower stems were created from wool roving that was needle- felted to the bag. The leaves were cut from felt sheets and needle-felted in as well. The flower button cover was also cut from sheet felt and sewn on.
